This great property is located just minutes S/SE of Eden Valley and within an hour's drive of the west metro. This property has been in the seller’s family for years, but the time has come to sell it and let others make memories of it with friends and family. The property has been restored and is enrolled in the state Reinvest in Minnesota (RIM) program, which is very affordable. It is situated to provide some great opportunities for various game species. Take a look at the aerial photos, location map, and drone pics. The property sits in the middle of just under 1,300 acres of federal WPA land, a mixture of wooded areas, thick bedding wetland areas, open water ponds, and prairie. There are more privately owned habitat complexes to the south as well. There is just too much great habitat in the area to not hold not only whitetails but have the potential to hold some mature deer along with pheasants and waterfowl. The property itself is a restored prairie with some volunteer trees. If you do not want the trees, you can work with the Soil and Water office to develop a management plan. Food plots are already approved through the conservation plan, and some nicely wooded areas, including the “island” on the S. end of the property, are used for hunting in various wind directions. You will also notice that the property allows east and south access. There isn’t really any open water on this property, but directly east of the NE corner is a pond on the federal public land that is only a 100-yard walk to hunt. Where to stay for a weekend? There’s a motel in Eden Valley and other lodging options just south in Litchfield.
